On December 18, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University conducted a visit to Awamedica, a prominent pharmaceutical company. The tour involved faculty members and pharmacy students, with the objective of connecting academic learning to real industry applications, thus enhancing students’ educational experiences through hands-on exposure.
The visit commenced with a cordial reception and a presentation by Awamedica personnel. They disseminated the company’s accomplishments, certifications, and contributions to the pharmaceutical sector. The lecture provided students with an overview of Awamedica’s superior production and its contribution to enhancing healthcare. Subsequently, the group visited the production facilities, where students observed various equipment and machinery and acquired knowledge about the sequential process of their operational approach to producing finished goods. The personnel elucidated essential phases such as mixing, tablet fabrication, coating, and packing, underscoring the significance of quality control and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Students were allowed to pose inquiries and enhance their comprehension of the industrial-scale production of pharmaceuticals. The tour provided them with pragmatic insights into the pharmaceutical sector and demonstrated the real-world applicability of their studies. The Faculty of Pharmacy at TIU facilitates trips that offer students practical experiences, equipping them for their future jobs. The visit was facilitated by Dr. Abdulsamad Salahuddin, Dean of the Pharmacy Faculty, and Dr. Mohammad Javed Naim, Head of the Pharmacy Department, in collaboration with the rectorate for essential provisions and The trip was guided by Dr. Awni Kamal to provide students with pragmatic insights into the pharmaceutical sector and demonstrate the real-world applicability of their studies.
