Pharmacology is the scientific discipline that studies about drug and their mechanisms by which they alter biological systems. The research areas focused in the department are toxicological studies, neuropharmacological screening of herbal products & synthetic drugs. The development of new and successful drugs requires advances and insights generated by scientific research. Pharmacology is all about “finding out how drugs work”. It is concerned with the effects of drugs on living organisms and their components such as cells, membranes, organelles, enzymes, and DNA. Pharmacology affects us all, almost every day.

The department has spacious laboratories and is equipped with latest instruments like Analgesiometer, Histamine Chamber, Actophotometer, Eddy’s Hot Plate, Convulsiometer, Elevated plus maze, Pole climbing apparatus etc., for conducting Practicals and carrying out research projects. The Department is striving towards our vision by providing quality education that creates a platform for the students. The goal is to prepare exceptional students for productive and successful careers in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, research, and public sectors. Our faculty members have published many research papers in International and National Journals.
