Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University’s (TIU) organized a community project to address drug misuse and abuse. At the beginning of the new academic session, a committee was formed to oversee the effort and includes students and faculty members. They meet early in the year to plan out the project’s activities, discuss their goals, and develop ideas. The program aimed to raise community awareness, particularly among the younger generation, and to offer students with a better knowledge of these crucial issues. On May 6th and 7th, 2025, the team paid visits to Nilufer Girls’ High School and Ishik Ronaki International School. The goal of these school visits was to encourage healthy living choices and teach students about the dangers of drug usage. Pharmacy students gave entertaining and insightful presentations during the trips. The earliest areas of debate included bacteria, illnesses, and antibiotic activity. They discussed how bacteria might acquire resistance to antibiotics if they are overused or mistreated. The health dangers associated with smoking were also discussed, particularly for individuals who do not smoke. To make the lessons more engaging, the students included a question-and-answer section, games, and activities. This aided schoolchildren’s involvement and material memorization. Participants in the activities received small gifts as a mark of thanks for their participation. One of the primary goals of this endeavor was to educate youth about the hazards of drug abuse and how to prevent them. Pharmacy students improved their public speaking skills and became more involved in their communities as a result. These efforts highlight the significant impact that education can have on people’s lives, paving the way for a healthier, more informed future generation.
