As part of its commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University organized a visit to an orphanage center (HAPPYNEST) in Erbil. The visit was carried out by Grade 1 pharmacy students accompanied by their class advisors. During the visit, the students distributed gifts and essential items to the children, aiming to bring happiness and create a positive impact on their lives. The items were purchased using funds raised through the IDCB SDG Fundraising Event, where students actively participated in selling homemade food, drinks, and sweets to support community service initiatives. The visit provided students with an opportunity to connect with the community, promote compassion, and contribute to the well-being of children in need. It also highlighted the importance of teamwork, generosity, and social responsibility among future healthcare professionals. This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) through fostering social awareness among students, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by supporting vulnerable members of the community. The visit was made possible through the support by Dr. Abdulsamad Slahuddin, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Mohammed Javed Naim, Head of the Pharmacy Department.
