The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University (TIU) and the Faculty of Pharmacy at Damascus University held an online meeting on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, to discuss strengthening academic and scientific cooperation and developing a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institution.
The meeting was led by Dr. Abdul Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at TIU, and Dr. Hind Al-Zein, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Damascus University. Dr. Mohammad Javed Naeem, Head of Department at TIU, and Dr. Ahmad Hamdy Ibrahim, Head of the International Office at TIU, also attended the meeting, along with representatives from both universities. During the meeting, the participants discussed a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for cooperation between the two faculties. The discussions included joint research, scientific publications, academic staff and student exchange, postgraduate studies, seminars, workshops, conferences, and guest lectures. The meeting also focused on cooperation in pharmaceutical education, including curricula, teaching methods, laboratory education, and practical training. Both universities expressed their interest in developing a strong and sustainable partnership that will support education, research, and professional development in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The next step will involve preparing and reviewing the draft MOU and identifying priority areas for future collaboration.
