Annual University Fundraising for Community Projects

Each year, the Dean of Students at Tishk International University organizes a fundraising event to support community service projects and cultivate a culture of helping others among students. This year’s event took place on December 2nd, 2025, with the Faculty of Pharmacy playing an active and leading role under the guidance of its Dean of Student Representatives, Dr. Rojan Arif and Dr. Serdar, alongside research assistants Dr. Shiva Sirwan, Dr. Helin Haider, Dr. Muhammed Redar, and Dr. Belan Azad.

Supporting Three Meaningful Community Initiatives

The fundraising effort was strategically directed toward three significant community projects:

Health-Focused Support:

  • Autism Care and Awareness programs and resources

Children’s Welfare:

  • Orphanage Support initiatives for vulnerable youth

Community Health Education:

  • Drug Misuse and Abuse prevention and awareness campaigns

Student Engagement and Contributions

Pharmacy students, encouraged by their class advisors, participated with remarkable enthusiasm and creativity:

Diverse Contributions:

  • Homemade foods and traditional dishes prepared by students

  • Snacks and beverages for the fundraising sale

  • Creative craft items made specifically for the event

  • Demonstration of strong teamwork and collaborative spirit

  • Inclusive participation across all academic levels

The collective effort was particularly impressive, with the Faculty of Pharmacy alone raising approximately 1,250,000 IQD, making a substantial contribution to the overall mission of supporting families in need and promoting community well-being.

Educational Impact and Student Development

Beyond the financial success, the event provided valuable experiential learning opportunities:

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding community needs and social responsibilities

  • Encouragement to support health-related activities beyond academic studies

  • Strengthened commitment to building a more supportive campus environment

  • Development of practical teamwork and organizational skills

  • Enhanced awareness of social issues relevant to future healthcare professionals

Institutional Collaboration and Impact

The successful event demonstrated effective cooperation between multiple university entities:

  • Dean of Students’ Office providing organizational framework and support
