On May 17, 2025, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University organized a scientific field trip to Barzan for pharmacy students. The primary objective of the trip was to provide students with hands-on experience and direct observation of medicinal plants as part of their Pharmacognosy course.
Trip Highlights
The day began with students traveling by bus to Barzan. The trip included two stops before the final activity. The first stop was for lunch and relaxation, allowing students to enjoy the natural surroundings. The second stop provided an opportunity for snacks and group activities, which fostered teamwork and communication among the students.
The most important part of the trip was the study of local plants. Students carefully observed and photographed different plant species in the area for their academic reports. Each student was tasked with selecting several plants, taking detailed notes on their appearance and location, and later researching their potential medicinal uses. This activity was designed to enhance their research skills and deepen their understanding of how plants are utilized in medicine.
The trip successfully blended education with practical experience, providing students with valuable insights into the study of medicinal plants in their natural habitat. The outing concluded with a group photo and final activities before the return journey.
