IDCB Community Service Project: Nanakaly Hospital Visit

As part of the ICDB community service project, first-grade students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University (TIU) visited Nanakali Hospital on May 23rd, 2024. Each student purchased a gift for the children who are fighting cancer. The objective of this project was to foster the well-being of individuals of all ages and provide assistance and joy to children who are undergoing cancer treatment. The students demonstrated their empathy and generosity by selecting gifts, including books, toys, and comforting items. The students were afforded the opportunity to engage with the children, providing them with comfort and encouragement during their hospital stay.

The students’ interaction with the young cancer patients was a heart-warming experience, as they shared smiles, stories, and laughter, resulting in positive and memorable moments. This initiative not only enhanced the day of the children at Nanakali Hospital but also imparted valuable lessons to first-grade faculty students regarding the significance of community service, empathy, and compassion. In addition, this initiative promoted a sense of unity and camaraderie. The project was a significant method of promoting a culture of kindness and support within the community, thereby fostering social cohesion and sustainable development through collaboration.
