The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University (TIU) proudly highlights the successful completion of an international clinical training experience by Pazhara Rasul Mawlood, a TIU Pharmacy student, who participated in the Arab Student Training Exchange Program 2026 at The University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan.
The training took place from 1 Aug to 23 August 2026, where she gained valuable clinical and hospital pharmacy experience at Jordan University Hospital (JUH) and the Faculty of Pharmacy’s medical training facilities.
Her training included inpatient and outpatient dispensing, prescription screening, medication verification, electronic medical records, medication therapy management, inventory management, and controlled-drug procedures. She also gained exposure to sterile compounding, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), oncology pharmacy, and medication safety practices, strengthening her understanding of safe and effective patient care.
A key part of the exchange was participation in clinical rounds in internal medicine, cardiology, and intensive care, where she observed multidisciplinary patient care and gained practical knowledge of therapeutic drug monitoring, dosage adjustment, drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and medication management. These experiences helped connect academic knowledge with real healthcare practice and strengthened her clinical decision-making, communication, teamwork, and professional skills.
The program also provided opportunities for international academic and cultural exchange, allowing Pazhara to interact with students and healthcare professionals from different backgrounds. She also visited important Jordanian landmarks, including Petra and the Dead Sea, enriching her educational experience beyond the clinical setting.
The exchange was supervised by Dr. Ahmad Hamdy Ibrahim, and supported by Dr. Abdulsamad, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Dr. Mohammed Javed Naim, Head of the Department of Pharmacy. The faculty also appreciates the support of The University of Jordan, the Deanship of Student Affairs, Jordan University Hospital, and the clinical training team in providing this valuable learning opportunity.
