On 12 May, 2026 an educational outreach visit was carried out at Ishik Ronaki School as part of an ongoing community service project focused on increasing awareness among adolescents about the risks of drug misuse and abuse. The activity was organized and supervised by research assistants Dr. Reem Sarmad and Dr. Srwa Falah, in collaboration with Dr. Serdar Deyan, DOS representative, whose efforts were essential to the success of the event. During the visit, pharmacy students delivered informative presentations on the misuse of commonly used substances, including antibiotics, caffeine, and nicotine. They discussed the potential health risks, side effects, and common misconceptions related to the inappropriate use of these substances. The presentations were designed to be engaging and interactive, encouraging students to participate, share their thoughts, and ask questions. The session also included an open Q&A discussion, which gave students the opportunity to raise concerns, clarify their understanding, and receive guidance directly from pharmacy students. This interactive exchange created a positive learning environment and strengthened communication between university students and school students.

At the end of the visit, small gifts were distributed to the attendees as a gesture of appreciation for their active participation. The enthusiastic response from both students and staff reflected the value and positive impact of the initiative. This project was conducted with the support of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Javed Naim, Head of the Pharmacy Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulsamad Salahuddin, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, whose guidance and commitment to community health made this meaningful event possible. The organizers and pharmacy students look forward to continuing similar initiatives in the future to promote health awareness and empower young people to make informed decisions about their well-being.
