World Sight Day Workshop
On the occasion of World Sight Day, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University held a workshop on the 12th of October, 2023, dedicated to eye health and preventive care. Dr. Esra Bayraktar, the ead of the Department, inaugurated the event with an insightful opening address.
The first session featured Dr. Ramadhan Khidher, a family medicine specialist with board certification, who delivered a presentation titled “Common Eye Problems”. Dr. Khidher offered an extensive overview of prevalent ocular conditions within the community, discussing their etiology, preventative measures, and therapeutic options.
Following this, Dr. Nawshad N. Ramadhan, an expert with a board certification in family medicine, delivered an informative talk on “Red Eye: Causes and Treatment”. Dr. Nawshad concentrated on elucidating the etiological factors of red eye, methods of protection against it, and the most effective treatments for this ailment.
The workshop included a brief interlude for a coffee break, which also served as a congenial networking session. Subsequently, the floor was opened to student-led activities designed to educate and elevate public awareness on eye health, in tribute to the significance of World Sight Day.
