On 06 May 2026, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University in collaboration with Takvin Organization successfully conducted the 8th International Pharmacy Workshop, under the theme of “Perspectives on Neurological Health: Redefining Patient-Centered Care” bringing together academics, researchers, and students for a day of scientific exchange and professional development. The event aligned with the vision and mission of TIU by promoting mental health awareness, encouraging early intervention, and facilitating continuous learning, professional skill development, and knowledge exchange. These activities all contribute to the enhancement of professional competencies and higher education.

The workshop commenced with an inspiring opening speech by Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, President of Tishk International University, who emphasized the growing importance of research applications in modern life and highlighted how scientific innovation continues to shape healthcare and society. This was followed by a welcoming address from Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulsamad Slahuddin, Dean of Pharmacy Faculty, who introduced the Faculty of Pharmacy and underscored its active role in advancing research and academic excellence.

The scientific program began with the first keynote lecture delivered by Dr. Yasir Zerbari, Neurologist, titled “Understanding Parkinson’s Disease: Key Concepts and Clinical Relevance for a Non-Neurologist.” The session provided valuable insights into the pathophysiology and clinical understanding of Parkinson’s disease, making the topic accessible to a broader healthcare audience.

Following a short coffee break, the workshop continued with the second keynote lecture by Asst. Prof. Dr. Majid Ahmed Ganaie, who serves as Associate Professor of Pharmacology, Program Director of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Vice Dean of the College of Dentistry & Pharmacy at Buraydah Colleges, Saudi Arabia. His presentation, “Drug Discovery Revolution: Neuromodulation via the Bedside-to-Bench Paradigm,” explored recent advancements and transformative approaches in pharmaceutical research, highlighting the future direction of drug development.

The workshop concluded with a closing speech that marked the successful completion of the event. Overall, the 8th International Pharmacy Workshop served as a valuable platform for fostering collaboration, encouraging innovation, and enhancing knowledge in ways that contribute to improved healthcare outcomes, sustainable scientific advancement, and the development of a well-educated and skilled professional community.
