Faculty of Pharmacy Trip to Korek Mountain
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University organized an excursion to Korek Mountain on February 11th, 2023, for its staff and students. 17 Students from different stages and ten faculty staff members joined the trip.
Korek Mountain Resort is a tourist site located near the city of Rawanduz, situated in a mountain with a height of 2100 meters above sea level, located in Erbil province of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and approximately 50 kilometres from the Iranian border.
The students and staff enjoyed having breakfast together at Shaqlawa before they continued their trip up to Korek Resort and reached the top of the mountain by using the mountain cableway (cablecar), the first and the longest ride in the region. It starts from approximately 650 meters from sea level and reaches the top station of Korek Mountain at an altitude of 2000 metres. After sunset, the team returned to Shaqlawa for dinner and arrived safely at the university later in the evening. This was an excellent opportunity for both staff and the students to enjoy a refreshing time away from the stress of work and study in the outstanding view of the calm and white mountains and hills. The participants had a wonderful time in the resort and were contended and relaxed while enjoying this pleasant entertainment. The trip held memorable and joyful moments, and students captured many beautiful photographs of nature during the day.
