On April 29, 2025, Tishk International University (TIU) hosted its eighth annual Spring Festival, a lively celebration of diversity, unity, and innovation. Organized by the Dean of Students, the event attracted more than 6,000 attendees, including faculty, students, international guests, and members of the public.
The festival featured:
- Science Tents: Twenty tents showcased cutting-edge research, technology, and innovation, highlighting the university’s academic and research achievements.
- Cultural Tents: Thirty tents displayed the diverse customs, languages, and identities of various nations, promoting global understanding. The Faculty of Pharmacy specifically featured cultural tents from Palestine, India, and Erbil, which emphasized their distinct historical and traditional backgrounds.
- Women’s Empowerment: Sixteen tents were dedicated to displaying homemade items from housewife entrepreneurs, promoting women’s empowerment and economic participation.
- Community Service: Forty food fundraising booths were set up to support various charitable causes, reflecting the university’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development.
The festival provided opportunities for networking, collaboration, and cultural exchange. It fostered an environment of peaceful coexistence and lifelong learning. The event was a testament to the university’s dedication to celebrating diversity, reducing inequality, and recognizing cultural traditions.
