On December 7, 2020, the faculty of Pharmacy with the dean of student’s representatives organized an orientation program for the newest members of the Pharmacy family, the freshman students in form of small groups due to the pandemic situation. In the beginning of the program, the Dean of faculty Dr. Duran Kala delivered a speech to the students regarding general information about university life, the Pharmacy career, and the start of their academic journey. Then the head of the department Dr. Esra Bayrakdar, gave them instructions via short informative videos and presentation to familiarize them about SIS system, then she continued her presentation to clarify the freshmen with all the regulations and disciplines of department at the same time all the participants were given a CD as a handbook to instruct them in their new step of their academic life.
Pharmacy head of department explained all the strict precautions and regulations (applying social distance rules, wearing masks and keeping hands sterilized) to the participants to minimize contamination with COVID-19.
At the end of program, the dean of students representative Dr. Rozhan Arif familiarized the students with the extracurricular activities taking place at Tishk International University and the opportunities that the students will have in participating through various projects and their chances to unleash their capabilities and talent. Then the students were introduced with their class advisors (Dr. Rozhan Arif, Dr, Zeynel Polat, Mr, Seyfeddin and Dr, Sheyma). The class advisors showed their readiness to help the new faculty members in their academic and social issues.
