Drug Misuse Awareness Community Service Project: Ishik Gulan International School

On January 22nd, 2023, the organizers of the  Drug Misuse Awareness Community Service Project, including Dr. Zahraa, Dr. Shaymaa, and Dr. Dlanpar, along with representatives from the Pharmacy Dean of Students, Dr. Zeynel Polat, Dr. Rozhan, and Dr. Sarmad, visited Ishik Gulan International School to educate the students about the dangers of drug misuse. This event represented the last chapter of the community service project which has been in activity since last year.

The event commenced with an introduction by the pharmacy students, emphasizing the importance of preventing drug misuse and its detrimental effects on the body’s organs. The students provided practical advice on the proper usage of drugs to promote favorable outcomes in daily life. The seminar was presented by third-grade students Yad Haval, Rebaz Nabaz, and fourth-grade student Ahmed Azad.

The session was followed by a Q&A forum where the participants were invited to raise questions. In response, third-grade students Sara Hawraz, Tara Ibrahim, Shara Sirwan, and fourth-grade student Helin Ibrahim answered and provided additional insight. The pharmacy students offered beneficial recommendations and underscored the significance of preventing drug misuse. The event was well-received by the school students and staff, who expressed their gratitude for the pharmacy staff’s efforts to raise awareness of this crucial issue.
