Drug Misuse Awareness Community Service Project at Ishik Ronaki International School
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University launched a series of awareness program this year to educate our community and bring students and staff members to work together to prevent drug misuse by our community and youths in particular. This project aims to raise awareness and provide a range of experiences to the pharmacy students in understanding substance misuse and also educating the surrounding community.
Tishk International University arranged a visit to Ishik Ronaki International School on 22nd January 2023. The activity was organized and supervised by Dr. Zahraa, Dr. Shayma, and Dr. Dlanpar and coordinated by Pharmacy Dean of Student’s Representative Dr.Zeynel Polat, Dr. Rozhan and Dr. Sarmad.
The visit was part of a series of activities for Drug Misuse Awareness Project. Tishk International University’s Pharmacy staff members and students were warmly welcomed in the Presidency office by the Ishik Ronaki International School. The event was performed in two separate sessions. First the students started by introducing themselves to the class. Third-grade pharmacy students Tara Ibrahim and Rebaz Nabaz presented a presentation about antibiotic misuse and overuse in our community as the first part of the seminar, followed by Yad Haval and Sara Hawraz, third-grade students who presented the misuse and overuse of antibiotics. The third part of the seminar, where the danger of smoking and vaping in the young community were discussed, which was presented by Helin Ibrahim and Ahmed Azad. Shara Sirwan, a third-grade pharmacy student captured the moments of each session.
Tishk International University pharmacy staff and students were warmly welcomed by Ishik Ronaki International School staff, and both sides emphasized on the importance of the topic and considered the impact of awareness programs to the youths in general and school students in particular.
