The International Pharmacy Workshop (7th IPW) – 2025 will focus on “Recent Progress in the Treatment of Cancer,” a disease that is a major contributor to global mortality. In 2022, there were an estimated 20 million new cases of cancer and 9.7 million deaths from cancer globally. This burden is projected to increase by about 77% by 2050, further straining health systems. Global and Regional Burden In the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region alone, more than 788,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in 2022.
