Flourishing of Hana Autism Center
On March 30th, 2022, the supervisors of the annual Autism Care and Awareness Project at Tishk International University and a group of staff members of the Faculty of Pharmacy paid a second visit to Hana Autism Centre in Erbil in order to follow the work and activity progress that had started after the fundraising event. Prior to this visit, the needs of the autistic center were examined and discussed, and the fundraising event was held to help raise the funds required to fulfill their needs.
The first tasks included painting and renovating several classes at the center, printing some daily activity t-shirts for autistic children, and purchasing essential building materials. New plans were discussed and devised with the administrative staff based on the request priority. To raise awareness of autism and promote autism care, students from different grades will hopefully join the next visits and will be required to volunteer to perform several activities with autistic children in order to understand and witness their daily life struggles and participate in community service.
A workshop was decided to be held on 30th May under theme (autistic spectrum disorder) by inviting prof. Azhar daoud, a speaker from Jordan University, and the second speaker is going to be the supervisor of this project, Ms. Amani Tahsin.
