The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University (TIU) celebrated the opening of “University Pharma,” a new pharmacy located on the ground floor of the New Pharmacy Building. The facility is designed to provide students with hands-on training in a real pharmacy setting.

Event Highlights

The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Saman Barzanji, the Minister of Health of the Kurdistan Region, who praised the university for enhancing student learning with the new pharmacy. Assist. Prof. Dr. Idrees Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, TIU President, also delivered speeches. The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulsamad Salahuddin, emphasized the importance of practical training for students.

The event featured music and the distribution of certificates to sponsors (Pioneer, Preotme, and At-Life Time). Following a coffee break, a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the pharmacy. Attendees were then given a tour of the facility and its training room, which will help students gain practical experience.

The launch of University Pharma is a key milestone for TIU, supporting its mission to provide high-quality pharmaceutical education and real-world training for students. The event’s host, Dr. Soz Faiq, welcomed everyone warmly.
