Workshop on Breast Cancer Awareness
On the 23rd of October, in recognition of Pink October, the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University, in partnership with TAKVIN Organization, conducted a pivotal workshop.
The event was graced by the President of Tishk International University, Assistant Professor Dr. Absulsamad Salahaddin, who opened with a warm welcome. The workshop’s inaugural session featured a seminar by Dr. Narmeen Taha Mustafa, who delved into surgical and diagnostic techniques for breast cancer, including essential self-examination methods. Following, Dr. Shayan Askari spoke on clinical signs of breast cancer, sharing valuable insights from her experiences and outlining key symptoms, as well as discussing the contributions of governmental hospitals in battling the disease.
The subsequent session introduced two speakers. Dr. Ahmad D. Abdulwahab provided an in-depth explanation of the radiological aspects of breast cancer diagnosis and the crucial role of screening. Next, Dr. Alan Reyadh illuminated current treatment modalities for breast cancer and expounded on the significant role pharmacists play in patient counseling.
This workshop shed light on the critical facets of breast cancer awareness, from early detection to advanced treatment strategies.
