1st Pharmacy Students Conference

The Pharmacy Student Conference 2022 is the first conference organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy students at Tishk International University, held on the 15th of May, 2022. PSC was the first event of this type to be organized concretely by students within their distinct leadership talents under the supervision of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Participants of this conference include members of the Ministry of Health, drug distributing & manufacturing companies employees, doctors & pharmacists from different hospitals and pharmacies, TIU lecturers, and the entirety of our students. The approximated number of participants reached 750 participants. The scientific, health-related, drug industry and community health-related issues were discussed at the conference.

The conference’s goal was to introduce our students to the pharmacy industry and provide them with an opportunity to lead a forum in which they can also introduce pharmacy to others. It aims to portray how TIU not only pays utmost attention to providing outstanding education but also is greatly concerned with shaping its students into successful future leaders. Presenters presented several pharmacy-related topics to spark scientific discussions between them and our attendees. This conference aimed to allow our students to explore what they wish to become in the future and connect with well-respected attendees by showing them that our students are always reaching for better and more significant achievements.

The opening ceremony of the PSC conference started at 10:00 AM with an opening speech addressed by Assistant Prof. Dr Abdulsamad Salahadin, President of Tishk International University, followed by a speech from Assistant Prof. Dr Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees. PSC was honoured by the presence of several well-known doctors, pharmacists, and specialists.

The keynote speeches were addressed mainly by:

Dr Prof. Ameer Chalabi, Senior Pharmacist and Former Director of Kurdistan Syndicate.

Dr Ibrahim Tahir Rabati graduated in 1982 from Mosul University Master of community Medicine 2008, Hawler Medical University.

The conference took place on TIU Campus, Education Building, 3rd Floor.

Groups of research students presented their projects (Dyar Mudhafar Salam, Muhammad Sultan and Omar Najmadin) between each session during the conference.

The event ended with a closing speech delivered by the Dean of Faculty, Dr Duran Kala, and Head of Department, Dr Esra Tariq.
