Structure Based Analysis of SGLT2 Seminar
On the 16th of October, 2023, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University (TIU) had the privilege of hosting a seminar that delved into the intricacies of molecular pharmacology. The seminar, titled “Structure-based Analysis of the Sodium/Glucose Cotransporter 2 (SGLT2),” provided a deep dive into the transporter’s architecture and functioning.
The speaker, Dr. Ajouan Mazoudji, from the Pharmacoinformatics Research Group at the University of Vienna’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, enlightened the attendees with his expert knowledge. Dr. Mazoudji’s presentation offered a window into the latest research being conducted in the field of pharmacoinformatics, showcasing the impact of structural analysis on understanding and developing therapeutic strategies targeting SGLT2—a key player in glucose regulation and a significant target for diabetes medication.
