New Rizgary Private High School Students Visit the Faculty of Pharmacy
The Faculty of Pharmacy of Tishk International University welcomed the 12th-grade students of New Rizgary Private High School in November 2021. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the Faculty of Pharmacy and pharmaceutical studies to the students. The camp visit also aimed to allow high school students to visit TIU, and become acquainted with university life. This was also a great opportunity to introduce the students to the university staff and participate in activities held in TIU.
About 200 students attended the visit and were divided into 4 groups. Each group had a chance to meet the administration of the university and were warmly welcomed by the staff members. Students also toured all departments and laboratories and participated in a seminar that introduced and explained pharmacology and departmental courses offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The importance of empowering youth and leading them towards a successful and flourishing academic future. Through the various activities and speakers, the event will better prepare high-school students for university life and allow them to gain insight into their plans beyond secondary school. We hope to assist the youth of our society to establish their identities as professional individuals who contribute to the wellbeing and the development of our communities.
Campus visits are a very crucial part of moving towards higher education. Such events help young individuals and potential university students with the process of choosing which university to attend or what majors to select. Indeed, it is very difficult for high school students to make a decision that will determine their professional careers and affect their life in general. This visit was designed to allow students to explore university and campus life and ensure that they do not regret any decisions they take or feel disappointed with the choices that they have made relating to the university and their higher studies.
A campus visit allows students to experience university life, and get an opportunity to see the people there, the learning environments, the social activities, and the academic services the institution provides. From walking the campus to meeting staff members and attending a lecture or two – all these are essential elements in the process of transition to the next journey.
The event familiarizes students with the diverse social aspects that the university offers and discusses the numerous extracurricular opportunities that exist in TIU and the benefits they will gain if they choose to get involved. It will also highlight the various clubs, intramural sports, and events that the university organizes to engage students, and improve their academic performance, as well as broaden their social skills.
