Mercy Corner is an annual project that is conducted by the Deanery of Students of Tishk International University. This humanitarian mission is dedicated to refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) who are currently residing in camps in the Kurdistan region.
This project intended to raise awareness amongst students and to show our sentiments towards the people who have been shifted from their homes due to war and political or social instabilities. The project was accomplished on the 9th of March 2021 in which all donations collected were delivered to Hasan Sham 2 Refugee Camp. In pursuit of this project, donation boxes were placed in each of our campus buildings weeks earlier than the accomplishment date, in attempt to promote the project and facilitate the contributions. The project was further financially supported through a fundraising event, which was organized on February 22nd, 2021 in TIU campus. The fundraising event was followed by an arrangement of 600 food packages for 600 families, organized with the cooperation of our beloved partners including Mrovdostan Organization, Khoshnaw Group and Dilnewa Organization.
Pharmacy students were acknowledged for their significant participation in the overall project. Special gratitude to grade 3 and 4 students who were remarked for their hard work in the camps and much appreciation to those who helped perform this humanitarian project in the best way possible.
