First Grade Orientation Program
On December 6th, 2023, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a orientation program for its new first-year students. In the initial session, Dr. Esra Tariq, the Head of the Department, warmly welcomed students, and introduced faculty members, scientific branches of the faculty, and providing crucial insights into using the student information system, grading system, attendance rules, exam rules, accessing lecture notes, understanding course structures, navigating registration procedures, and grasping the nuances of the student handbook. Dr. Esra emphasized the importance of regularly checking the university and faculty websites for updates on activities and achievements.
The second session commenced with an introduction by Dr. Rozhan Arif, the Dean of Student Representatives, who introduced herself and extended a warm welcome to the incoming students. Following this, a group of research assistants, including Dr. Sarmad Jabbar, Dr. Hedi Othman, Dr. Abeer Zuheyr, and Dr. Sana Aza, a committee member of the Dean of Students, explained the multifaceted role of the Dean of Students. They discussed the functions of DOS staff, the pivotal role of the Career Center, the variety of clubs available, upcoming events, and the importance of participating in community service projects.
The primary goal of this orientation program was to equip students with essential information for their academic journey while introducing them to the diverse resources the university provides. The Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University aimed to ensure that the beginning of the first-year students’ college experience was both smooth and enjoyable.
