First Aid Techniques Seminar
The Faculty of Pharmacy at TIU organized a seminar titled, “First Aid Techniques ”, for third-stage students, held on November 30th, 2021.
First aid is the first and immediate help given to any individual suffering from minor or serious injury in order to save a life, prevent further harm and promote recovery.
The purpose of this seminar was to teach students how to perform first aid and inform them of the importance of basic first aid knowledge. This event was opened by a welcoming speech by Amin Yousif. Two speakers were invited to present the seminar: Dr. Anas Abdullah and Dr. Govand Sarbaz, who highlighted the techniques required to conduct emergency aid through live demonstration and training manikins. The presenters focused on airway and breathing emergencies and prevention of such.
Participants were grateful for this insightful experience and were encouraged to improve their first aid skills. It is important to possess first aid skills, and it can contribute to saving many lives. At the end of the seminar, certificates were given to presenters by the Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Esra Bayraktar.
