Reducing Chemical Exposure at Home Closing Ceremony
To acknowledge the cleaning staff at Tishk International University, the “Reducing Chemical Exposure at Home” Community Service Project organisers held a closing ceremony to appreciate their hard work and remind them of the safety measures they must take when cleaning the university labs. The closing ceremony was held on November 3rd, 2022, in the Conference Hall at Education Building, Tishk International University.
The ceremony began with a speech delivered by the Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Esra Bayrakdar, in which she appreciated the cleaning staff’s work and thanked the organisers of this community service project. A seminar was later presented by Mr. Mohammed Fatih in which the hazardous effects of the misuse and mishandling of chemicals were thoroughly explained to the cleaning staff, and instructions to take extra caution while cleaning labs were also shared.
The seminar was followed by a special awarding of the cleaning staff, in which small gifts were given to each staff member by the Faculty of Pharmacy staff, including the Dean of Pharmacy Department, Dr. Duran Kala, Dean of Students Representatives of Faculty of Pharmacy Dr. Zeynel Polat and Dr. Rojan Arif, and the Project Supervisor Mr. Mohammed Fatih. To bring the celebration to an end, cakes was distributed to the cleaning staff and participants.
